![]() Perrone has played roles ranging from Ophelia in "Hamlet" to Gloria Thorpe in "Damn Yankees." Dechello played Potiphar’s seductive wife in last year’s "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" and is a member of the Hamden High Dance Team which recently won their fifth consecutive Connecticut State Championship. The "Chicago" cast at Hamden High School includes Juniors Hilary Perrone and Melissa Dechello as Roxie and Velma. Using a bit of “Razzle Dazzle,” the innocent are guilty, the guilty are innocent and chaos reigns in corrupt Chicago. Billy takes Roxie’s case and re-arranges her story for consumption by sympathetic tabloid columnist Mary Sunshine. ![]() Velma is not happy to see Roxie, who is stealing not only her limelight but her big-shot lawyer, Billy Flynn. Roxie now finds herself in Cook County Jail, inhabited by Velma and other merry murderesses and presided over by Matron “Mama” Morton whose system of mutual aid perfectly suits her clientele. Roxie convinces her husband Amos that the victim was a burglar, and he cheerfully takes the rap until the police reveal to Amos that Roxie knew the burglar, and Amos decides to let her swing for herself. She shares the spotlight with Roxie Hart who shoots her lover, Fred Casely, when he decides to walk out on her. Leading the pack is Velma Kelly, a vaudevillian who shoots her husband and the other half of her sister act when she catches them in a compromising position. “Chicago” roars with hot jazz and cold-blooded killers.
